A successful actress who’s been in movies, and television since her mid-twenties. She was the object of Jim Carrey’s obsession in Dumb and Dumber, starred as the late Bruce Lee’s wife in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, and has been on numerous television shows such as “Picket Fences,” “CSI: Miami,” and “NCIS.”
Why she made the list
Ever since Jim Carrey’s Lloyd fell in love with her Mary Swanson in 1994’s Dumb and Dumber, Lauren Holly’s had a place in our hearts. She’s 44 and still looks fantastic.

#28: Kim Cattrall
Age: 51
Where you know her from:
Someone said something about a little show that I’ve never heard of. “Sex and the City.” Personally, I’ve never seen it. But when Kim Cattrall was suggested for this list, I went and checked out a few other things she’s been in. Mannequin, Big Trouble in Little China, Porky’s, the list goes on.
Why she made the list
While I can’t say I’m a huge fan of her work, and she never really came across as “gorgeous” to me, I took the liberty of Googling her name on an image search. Suffice to say, I was instantly ready to add her to the list of 40 hottest women over 40. At just over 50, Cattrall still looks like she’s in her thirties. And that alone makes her worthy of this list.

#27: Kristin Davis
Age: 42
Where you know her from:
Along with #28, Davis was in the Sex and the City show, and soon to be movie. I remember Kristin from the good ol’ days on “Melrose Place,” and eventually was reintroduced to her through Deck The Halls (which was a horrible movie, don’t see it).
Why she made the list
Kristin Davis has a classicly beautiful look about her. She’s charming, and witty, and stylish. She has that feeling of the hot-mom that lived next to your best friend growing up. She’s always smiling, and generally seems to enjoy what she does.

#26: Julianna Margulies
Age: 41
Where you know her from:
Nurse Carol Hathaway on TV’s “ER.” She saved lives at the hospital. She then eventually went on to Snakes on a Plane, and saved lives on a plane, from friggen snakes!
Why she made the list
While she’s had her share of failed TV shows, and failed movies for that matter, anyone who can go from playing a nurse on TV, to the big screen as a hot flight attendant is okay in my book.

#25: Maria Bello
Age: 40
Where you know her from:
Another alum from TV’s “ER,” Bello got her big break in 1998 by joining the cast as Dr. Anna Del Amico. She then went onto the big screen in movies such as Coyote Ugly, The Cooler, Secret Window, Assault on Precinct 13, A History of Violence, Thank You For Smoking, World Trade Center, Flicka, and The Jane Austen Book Club.
Why she made the list
While I don’t recommend seeing A History of Violence since it royally sucked as a movie, there’s one very redeeming scene in it, that solidifies Bello’s position on our list. The “stairs scene” redefined the “over 40 sex scene” in any movie, as far as I’m concerned. If you haven’t seen it, go get a copy of the movie, and fast forward to that scene. You’ll have a new found respect for Bello.

#24: Tia Carrera
Age: 40
Where you know her from:
Come on, really? You’ve never seen Wayne’s World? Cassandra, der. She’s also been in a bunch of other stuff; “MacGyver” (2 episodes), “Tales from the Crypt” (1 episode), True Lies, and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Why she made the list
There wasn’t a teenaged boy in the country who wasn’t envious of Wayne Campbell in 1992’s Wayne’s World, and seeing Tia now, 15 years later, she still looks exactly the same. Still hot after 40, still the envy of teenage boys everywhere.

#23: Elizabeth Hurley
Age: 42
Where you know her from:
Liz Hurley hasn’t worked much, in fact she hasn’t done anything in three years. She doesn’t need to though, just being her makes her famous. Though, if you’re so inclined to know, she’s been in a ton of big movies: Austin Powers: International Man of Myster, My Favorite Martian, Passenger 57, The Orchid House, just to name a few.
Why she made the list
Any over 40 list without Elizabeth Hurley would be an insult to everyone reading it. Many consider Elizabeth Hurley to be the most beautiful woman alive. While I don’t necessarily agree with that statement, I’ll definitely say she’s in the top 40 of women over 40.

#22: Teri Hatcher
Age: 42
Where you know her from:
“Desperate Housewives” has brought Hatcher’s career back from the edge. After having gone a number of years without making it big, 2004’s new hit show changed all of that. Teri was Lois Lane in 1993’s “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” and had numerous guest appearances on TV shows, such as “Night Court,” “The Love Boat,” “Quantum Leap,” “Murphy Brown”, and many more.
Why she made the list
Ever since the early 90s, when I saw Hatcher as Penny on “MacGyver,” I had a thing for her. She’s always been gorgeous in that “you’ll never score a chick this hot” way. She’s aged extremely well, and looks the same as she did twenty years ago, on “MacGyver. “

Age: 42
Where you know her from:
Shania Twain’s sold just over a bagillion records, and is an enormous country music star. She’s also had guest appearances in TV and film.
Why she made the list
I was astonished that Twain was in her forties when I started compiling this list. I figured she was in her mid-thirties, at the latest. That, and the image you see to the left, were reason enough to add Shania Twain to the 21 spot on this list.

#20: Khandi Alexander
Age: 50
Where you know her from:
Khandi plays the hottest Medical Examiner in the history of television, on “CSI: Miami.” She’s also guested on “CSI: NY,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and done stints in movies, such as: House Party 3, Poetic Justice, Menace II Society, There’s Something About Mary, and had a long running role on TV’s “ER.”
Why she made the list
Anyone who can lean over a dead body, and deliver lines like “Who killed you, baby?,” with her giantly fake breasts sticking out of her two-tight-for-a- fifty-year-old top deserves a spot on this list. Khandi Alexander (which I’m convinced is a fake name) looks fantastic week after week, on TV’s “CSI: Miami,” while diagnosing causes of death, and pulling bullets from dead people’s heads. That’s worthy of any list, especially at 50 years old.
