There’s a new documentary called American Teen. On the IMDb page it says it’s “A documentary on seniors at a high school in a small Indiana town and their various cliques.” Great. Because we don’t already know that high school sucks.
Add to that the design for the poster, which just about makes me want to scream. See below.
Your eyes do not deceive you. They completely and totally copied the poster for
The Breakfast Club. They make think is is clever, but it’s really not. And here’s why - the poster looks like a parody, not a documentary. It looks like they’re making
Not Another Teen Movie 2. It tells me nothing about the movie, because I’ve already assumed (based on our current culture for parodies having success) what the movie is about, and it’s nowhere
near what it’s actually about.
American Teen will be in theaters in July, and I hope they’ll have a better poster by then.
