Tom Hanks may have his leading lady for the upcoming Angels & Demons (the prequel to The Da Vinci Code).
Empire Online reports that Ayelet Zurer (Munich) will play Vittoria Vetra, the daughter of a slain physicist. However, IMDb says the part is going to be played by Naomi Watts, which appears to have been in place since November of ‘07. Did the part get recast, or was Naomi Watts never part of it? Or are both ladies in the film, playing different parts?

I just grabbed my copy of the book, because I’ve been meaning to comment on this! Vittoria is described as being dark-haired, with an olive complexion. Obviously, Naomi Watts doesn’t fit this description, so that would be a huge stretch! I doubt that it would work! Now that I think of it, Monica Bellucci would have been an even better choice!
