The MovieSnobs team loves Jason Statham, so Katy checked out his latest, The Bank Job. She says,

I wish that I could say that Jason Statham has completely redeemed himself since his last clunker of a film. Not quite! He may not have gotten there yet, but he’s well on his way. This time, the choice of film was a rather decent one.

While we are eternally bummed that Jason Statham has denied being involved in the G.I. Joe movie, we are so very excited that he will be making The Transporter 3. According to an interview with MTV.com, Statham says they’ve “just been waiting for the script to be in a good spot.” I’m sure that script will include fast cars, ass-kicking, and Jason Statham without his shirt on. Which we’re just fine with.

Action-star and all-around badass Jason Statham turns 35 today. The MovieSnobs staff would like to wish him a very happy birthday!

He may look like a nice guy, but Jason Statham could kick your ass – don’t doubt it. I’ve been saying it for a long time. Mike’s been saying it for a long time. I guess the rest of the world is finally catching on to how incredibly awesome Jason Statham is.

Entertainment Weekly has a four-page spread on Statham’s career. They point out that the action scene right now is mostly lame. Minus the Bourne series and Casino Royale, we don’t have much else going on. Except for Jason Statham, of course. He’s singlehandedly driving the hardcore, kick-ass, bullets flying, cars chasing, things exploding action genre right now.

I learned a couple of really interesting things in the article:

• The Transporter series made $197 million worldwide – I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that loved those movies.
• Statham has 7% body fat. I don’t know what that means exactly, but I know that’s insanely good.

I’ve never seen a single Jet Li movie, but I may have to. The trailer doesn’t even look all that interesting, but Jason Statham stars as a “rogue FBI agent.” He’s driving fast cars and kicking people in the face, and that’s what I like to see.
