You may or may not have heard that Jim Carrey was cast to play Scrooge in another re-imagining of A Christmas Carol. Robert Zemeckis is helming the 3D motion capture film, starring Carrey, due out November 6th.

The Cloverfield people have released an embeddable widget with footage from the movie. There’s also a contest attached to it, with a hometown screening of Cloverfield on the line.

One thing I’d like to note – that’s not an accurate representation of the Statue of Liberty’s head. I’ve been inside Lady Liberty’s crown. She’s far bigger than shown.

Rope of Silicon has some great audio from a recent screening of Sweeney Todd. It’s Johnny Depp singing “Johanna” and apparently slicing someone up at the same time. I have to say, as a former roommate of Broadway musical junkies, I’m impressed by Depp’s singing abilities.
It’s official – Johnny Depp is perfect.

The IESB has two new featurettes about the next installment in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The first featurette is about the new Quidditch costumes and the second is about set design for the orphanage where we meet the young Tom Riddle.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth movie in the series, and is set to be released on November 21st, 2008.
