Juno Shooting Script Available on Amazon
Posted by: Christine on Feb 2nd, 2008 Leave a Comment »

The whole movie world seems to have gone crazy over Juno – it’s nominated for Oscars, the soundtrack is topping the charts, and Ellen Page is on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly.

If you’re scrambling for your Juno fix, you can buy the Juno Shooting Script on Amazon. It contains the entire script, a forward by director Jason Reitman, an introduction by writer Diablo Cody (whose couple of ET pieces I’ve loved), and a section of color photos. That should hold you over until the DVD is released.

Saw Video Game in the Works

I’m a big fan of the Saw series of films, but news of a video game based on the series is a little bit disturbing. It’s one thing to go watch a scary movie; quite another to pretend to be the killer and slash people up from the comfort of your living room.

Of course, no plot has been revealed and Horror-Movies.ca thinks it will probably be a puzzle-solving game, but in order to stay true to the series there’s going to have to be some blood and gore.

While I’ve played my fair share of violent games (I love House of the Dead), just the thought of playing a video game with the level of violence in the Saw films is a little nauseating.

The good news is, the creators of the game are rumored to be working with Leigh Whannell and James Wan, the creators of the original Saw.

The Dark Knight Roller Coaster in the Works

Batman Roller CoasterFor the latest news on The Dark Knight roller coaster, click here.

UltimateRollerCoaster.com has the news about a planned Dark Knight-themed roller coaster for the Six Flags parks. The coaster is expected to cost $7.5 million and will be the first indoor roller coaster at Six Flags New England. The coaster is also in the works for Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey and Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL.

According to UltimateRollerCoaster.com,

Six Flags says the excitement begins as guests venture through demented hallways of twists, turns and hallucinatory images, while they are tormented by The Joker himself. Then as they set foot onto a distressed, vandalized train platform, they can only guess at what awaits them as they speed through six 180-degree hairpin turns, climb unseen hills, plunge into pitch darkness and dip into unforeseen danger. And of course, in the midst of all this chaos it’ll be up to Batman himself to save you.

Of course, the coaster will be opened to coincide with the release of The Dark Knight in July 2008. As far as I’ve read, it will not be replacing the original Batman roller coaster (at left) at any of the parks. If it will be worth the three hour ride from my house to Six Flags New England, we’ll see.

“Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner” Except Lionsgate

IMDb.com is reporting that Lionsgate Films has filed suit against 15 companies selling t-shirts with the famous quote from Dirty Dancing. Apparently, being named as one of the American Film Institute’s most popular quotes from a motion picture made Lionsgate suddenly realize that other people were making money off their intellectual property.

In light of recent events, if you’re a Dirty Dancing fanatic, I suggest you get a tee while you still can…

  The Office Space Kit

The Office Space Kit
While browsing at Barnes & Noble last week, I found this little gem in with the bargain books. I brought it home as a gift for my fiance, who immediately brought it to work to pimp out his cube.

The kit comes with your own “jump to conclusions” mat, an “Is this good for the company?” sign, starter flair, and TPS report covers. It also comes with Lumbergh’s Initech mug, which I think is the best part, and Milton’s red stapler, which they cheaped out on and gave you a mini stapler.

It’s only ten bucks at Amazon.com.

  My Name is Inigo Montoya…

My Name is Inigo MontoyaIf you can’t finish that phrase, you’re not a true movie fan. It’s only from one of the best movies ever madeThe Princess Bride, and as it’s a slow movie news day (I’m ignoring anything about J.J. Abrams or Cloverfield), I thought I’d share this awesome t-shirt with you.

The front features Inigo with his famous, well-prepared phrase, “My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father… ” and the back actually says “Prepare to die.” I’m crossing off about four people on my Christmas list already by finding this shirt. Buy one for yourself and be the cool kid in town.
