  Fracture Posters Cause Controversy

Fracture movie posterBoston’s Mayor Menino has led the crusade against an advertising campaign for the upcoming movie Fracture. The movie stars Sir Anthony Hopkins and Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling as a suspected murderer and a detective, respectively.

The posters are being removed from public transortation sites for supposedly encouraging domestic violence by carrying the tagline “I shot my wife.” This follows a string of recent movie poster removals for Captivity and Wristcutters: A Love Story due to their violent imagery.

In my own opinion, the violent imagery may be what’s needed to let parents know these are not movies their kids should be seeing. Maybe this is what it takes for parents to stop bringing their 11 and 12-year-olds to R-rated movies.
