Harry Potter 7 to be Two Movies

Finally, the fans will get what they have been asking for - to preserve the story of the novel, the seventh Harry Potter movie (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) will be split into two movies, according to England’s The Mail.

For years fans have been saying that they would be willing to watch the longer versions of the films, or even two movies, as long as the story remained intact. After all, they have taken the time to read the hundreds and hundreds of pages in the books - a couple of extra hours in a movie theater is nothing compared with that.

Portions of the books have been left out since the beginning, but I believe the cutting of the Quidditch storyling in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was the final straw for fans. Even Ms. Rowling herself has previously commented that, “It is simply impossible to incorporate every storyline into a film under four hours long.”

Hopefully whoever is chosen to direct Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will do right by the story, and by the fans. What do you think? Are you willing to sit through a four-hour movie to see the story as it was intended? Or do you prefer HP 5 director David Yates’ style of making the movie shorter?
