Frequently Asked Questions
I found an error, or misprinted information, what should I do?
First, thanks for noticing. We do our best to make sure everything and everyone we write about, is accurate. But, sometimes, it’s either really late, or really early when we’re working on the site, and our fingers don’t cooperate with our brains. Mistakes happen.
If you notice an error, wrong picture for an actor, misspelling in their name, etc, let us know about it. Email us at corrections@moviesnobs.net. You never know, we might reward you, with a free prize!
What Is A Movie Snob?
That’s a good question. What is a movie snob? Well, you are. We are. Everyone is, really. Think about it. How many times you decided you disliked a movie based on
who was in it, or because the soundtrack sucked, or because they killed off your favorite actor in the first 2 minutes and 47 seconds? That makes you a snob. It’s okay
to admit, there’s nothing wrong with being a movie snob. In fact, we actually enjoy being a movie snob. Pointing our the obvious mistakes in movies that the multi-million
dollar production team missed, or pointing out the main character was reading his lines off screen from a queue card. Those types of things make us who we are.
Why should I read your reviews, and not [insert other site here]?
Well, for starters, we’re independant. We aren’t contracted by any movie studios, or magazines, or newspapers. We’re just people who go to the movies, and love movies. We watch movies, then we review them as honestly as we can without getting ourselves sued. Other sites offer fancy previews, user comments, still images from the movie itself, and other things that we don’t want to bore you with. We know you’ve heard of the movies we’re reviewing. Otherwise, you wouldn’t waste your time reading it. So why bother throwing some still image from the movie in your face? Just a plain review, written in plain language. No big words that you’ll need to look up to understand. Let’s face it, if we wanted to use big words, we’d have to go look them up ourselves. And we’re not into that “being smarter than you” stuff. We’re just normal people, with normal opinions.
Where can I find your review of [insert movie title here]?
Being the snobs that we are, we generally only review movies that our staff has had an interest in. If you don’t see a review of a movie that you’re looking for, it’s most likely because we either haven’t seen it yet, or have absolutely no interest in. If the movie isn’t listed in the “Upcoming Reviews” section, most likely it’s something we had no interest in, once we saw a trailor for it.
What’s that funny looking guy that looks like he’s on fire all about?
That’s Flamey. Our mascot. He just came about one day when messing around with shapes and colors in Photoshop. You’ll see him also popping up throughout our other sites in the future. As well as on advertising that we’ll be doing over the course of the next few months. So get used to seeing him. And as angry as he looks, he’s damn adorable.
Are you competing with ImDB.com?
Not at all. We’re not a site to go for information about a movie, or to find complete cast listings, trivia on movies, or any of the great things ImDB offers. We’re strictly about reviewing movies for the sole purpose of helping people get a better idea if a movie’s going to suck or not. We won’t compete with ImDB in any way whatsoever, and we’re content with that. We’re avid fans of IMdb ourselves.
Why are you guys doing this?
It’s simple really. We just got so sick of seeing reviews of movies by people who were paid off by movie studios, and were saying what the movie studios wanted them to. So, we’d listen to these reviewers, and go to the movies, only to be dissappointed by the crappiness that is the movie.
I’ve got a question, who should I send it to?
If there’s something you want to know, just shoot us an e-mail at info@moviesnobs.net, and we’ll get back to you shortly.
