…at least according to him. IMDb News is reporting today that Ben Affleck says studios didn’t take him seriously after his splashy romance with Jennifer Lopez. Affleck says,

It was probably bad for my career…I ended up in an unfortunate crosshair position where I was in a relationship and (the media) mostly lied and inflated a bunch of salacious stuff for the sake of selling magazines. And I paid a certain price for that.

At least his career is recovering, with the upcoming release of Gone Baby Gone. J-Lo’s post-Affleck career move was the total flop El Cantante.
