FilmWad points out the similarities in this role to Reynolds’ role in Waiting…. In Waiting… Reynolds was the waiter who everyone looked up to at Shenanigans. In Adventureland he’s the amusement park worker/rock god that everyone looks up to.
As a big Ryan Reynolds fan, I’m happy to see that he’s still comfortable doing the comedy stuff after his more serious roles in The Amityville Horror remake and The Nines.
I, for one, am very excited at the prospect of seeing Ryan Reynolds with a guitar. Anyone else?

Especially after I just finished complaining that he should be try his hand at more dramas!
I do enjoy him in dramas, but he’s also a real natural at the comedy stuff. If he can manage to pull off both successfully, I don’t see why he should focus on just one.
