 Jason Statham Apparently Simon West is a fan of Jason Statham’s. When news broken last week about Statham starring in the remake of The Mechanic, Simon West immediately said he was interested.
Variety has confirmed that West is now attached to direct The Mechanic.
Shooting is set to start this summer, in Shreveport LA.
Simon West’s resume includes Con Air, which many people fault for Nic Cage’s complete ridicuousness. I, however, enjoy it, being the John Cusack fan that I am.
West has also helmed When A Stranger Calls, The General’s Daughter, and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
The Mechanic is scheduled for release on December 10th, 2010.
