Variety is reporting that last night’s late night showings of Star Trek have already brought the movie’s weekend total to $7 million, domestically.
Estimates say that if the film pulls in $25million today (which is extremely likely) that it’ll break the $80million mark for its opening weekend.
Chances of Wolverine holding the number one spot two weeks in a row are pretty bleak at this point.
Wolverine opened on roughly 4,100 screens, and did just over $75million on opening weekend, last week.
Star Trek is opening on 3,800 screens, and is estimated to do over $80million. Seems like a good weekend to be part of the Star Trek franchise.
We’re planning on hitting the first showing in the morning, and will have our review up early tomorrow afternoon.
What about you? When are you planning on seeing it? Or are you not planning on seeing it at all?
