The trailer for Sweeney Todd has finally hit the internet, and it is fantastic. I’ve watched it at least eight times already. It is beautifully dark and looks like it’s going to live up to everyone’s expectations. The musical scene with Johnny Depp prowling the streets is nothing short of mesmerizing.
Until we can get an embeddable version, check it out on Yahoo! Movies.
OK, so I love this musical and I love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, so this looks awesome.
My only complaint is that I’m sort of “eh” on Helena Bonham Carter and I think the studios tend to market musicals by sort of pretending there is no singing in them…
The MovieSnobs team is torn on this one. I am extremely excited and I love the trailer, but I wasn’t the one that had to watch and review Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The last Tim Burton/Johnny Depp creation I saw was Corpse Bride (also a musical, incidentally) and I liked it. It was no Nightmare Before Christmas but it was entertaining, at least.
Oh goodness. I’m sooo darn excited to see this. In all seriousness, it looks fantastic!
My anticipation to see this is about as high as it would be, should I be forced to watch Broken Flowers, Babel, or Willy Wonka (the stupid remake) again.
I’d rather sit at home, and stare at a blank screen. As much as I love Johnny Depp, I absolutely refuse to see another Tim Burton movie, after what he did to Wonka.
