Sorry for the lack of updates this week, I’ve been working pretty heavily on a redesign for the site, which has taken up most of my free time.
To keep you occupied, in the meantime, here’s a recap of what’s going on, and some links to more stories:
- There’s a whole bunch of new images from Saw V, which opens next Friday over at BloodyDisgusting
- Sources say there’s more footage after the end of Max Payne, similar to the last Pirates movie and Iron Man. Stick around until the credits are over for a hint of a sequel.
- SlashFilm is reporting that Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland is going to be “more engaging/psychological”, by which they mean “stupid” and “annoying.”
- A site I’ve never heard of, called MovieHole, says that someone greenlit a World of Warcraft movie, and a script is being penned. (link)
- JoBlo has a pretty cool interview with Mark Wahlberg (link)
- Lionsgate has said they’re not screening W in Texas. Hmm, wonder why?
- Richard Donner has confirmed that plans to make The Goonies sequel are one again shut down.
- LatinoReview has some new images from Star Trek, if you’re into that sorta thing. (link)
That’s about it for the last couple of days. Back to work on the redesign I go.

It’s been made officially unofficial as of early this morning (super early this morning for me, since I’m on the West coast this week.)
Burton has cast, surprise surprise Helena Bonham-Carter as the “off with her head” Red Queen, in the upcoming live-action, stop-animation, CGI fest remake of Alice In Wonderland.
In a turning surprise, the White Queen will be played by Anne Hathaway. After seeing Hathaway do an amazing job hosting SNL this past Saturday, I’m game to see just about anything she’s in. If you didn’t catch the episode, you should download it, or watch the highlights on YouTube, because it was a great week.

Just since I left the office last night, all sorts of Depp news has hit the wire. Rumors have been confirmed.
- Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean flick.
- Depp has been cast as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland (no surprise, we know Burton has a bromance with Depp.)
- Depp has been cast in The Lone Ranger, as Tonto.
Also, in other awesome movie news:
- Cars 2 is being worked on for release in 2011.
- Iron Man comes out on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday.
- Warner Brothers has green lit a prequel to I Am Legend.
It was a pretty busy night for movie news, apparently.

It’s no secret that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have giant man-crushes on each other, and there’s nothing wrong with that. The pair has brought us Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, and the unforgettable Edward Scissorhands. Now it’s being reported that Depp will appear in Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland as the Mad Hatter.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Depp pops up in the film, but so far it’s missing from his IMDb page.
Alice is supposed to start shooting next year and is set for release in 2010.
