In a statement released a few hours ago from his rep, they had the following to say:
“Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister,” the actor’s reps said in the statement. “Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale.”
With that said, someone (who allegedly knew someone there Sunday night, said the following (which confirms my assumption that Christian Bale’s family is trash:
“Edna: “His mom and sister are alcoholics and drug addicts, they showed up at his hotel uninvited and highly intoxicated. they were calling him big shot and that he needs to take care of his own. His mom was yelling that he would be nothing without her and he owed her. His sister was begging for money and when he was pushing her toward the door his mother came from behind and started hitting him on his head and kicking him. He managed to push them both out the door and his mom fell, they called the police and wanted him arrested. I believe that Chirstian is the victim here not his mom or sister”
Mandy: “edna, how do you know all that?”
Edna: “My father works security at the hotel, and he said it was a mess. His mom and sister wanted the front desk worker to let them into his room to wait for him. When they were told no they started cussing and yelling. They sat in front of his door for an hour until he finally arrived.”
I’m convinced that Christian Bale would do nothing wrong. TMZ is reporting that the “abuse” claim was verbal, not physical, which is a relief. I can’t say I blame him for yelling at his junkie mom for trying to extort him, but that’s just me.

Actor Christian Bale has turned himself into London Police early this morning, in conjunction with accusations that he beat his mother (61) and sister (40).
Bale’s mother and sister filed a complaint with London Police on Sunday night. London Police declined to arrest Bale on Monday, as he was promoting The Dark Knight around town.
As of this morning, Bale has turned himself into authorities, and the case is pending further action.
My day just got a little bit sadder. I’d hate to think that Batman’s a woman beater.

Update, the official numbers are even better than the estimates. The actual total for the weekend was just shy of $158 million, which means that The Dark Knight beat Spider-man 3 by an even bigger margin.
According to estimates released at 2PM EST, The Dark Knight has taken in just over $155 million, which puts it just ahead of Spider-man 3’s opening weekend record, by $4.2 million.
And the day’s not yet over, either!
There’s been a steady decrease in sales since Friday (Friday: $67.5 million, Saturday $48 million, so far Sunday $39.4 million), but well enough to set a new record (assuming estimates come back as correct.)
Another notable fact is that the budget for The Dark Knight was only $180 million, compared to Spider-man 3′s $258 million. Also notable, The Dark Knight has surpassed The Godfather on IMdB’s Top 250 movies, and now currently resides at number 1. While none of the Spider-man films even grace the top 250. Coincidence? I think not.
Congratulations to all those involved with The Dark Knight, a true success. I’m anxiously awaiting the next movie, and will gladly fork over my $10 to see it.

The estimates are in from Friday’s box office take, and various sources are reporting that The Dark Knight has broken the single day box office record, with an amazing $66.4 million.
The previous record was held by Spider-man 3, with an impressive single day record of $59 million.
Weekend numbers haven’t been made available as of yet, but if estimates stand, The Dark Knight will certainly be in the history books. Let’s hope the rest of the weekend held as good numbers, and the movie sets a new opening weekend record, knocking Spider-man 3 (which is a piece of crap movie) out of the top spot.
Stay tuned for details.

The most highly anticipated movie of the summer is finally in theaters and it’s every bit as amazing as we had all hoped. Mike says,
I’m absolutely taken aback at how amazing the movie was. To the point where the first thing I said at the end of the film was “Start it again.”, I’d sit through the two and a half hours again, in a heartbeat, even at $10 a pop for another ticket. The film is breathtakingly shot, extremely well written, and acted wonderfully.
