The IESB talked with Jason Segel, the writer of the new Muppets movie. He assures them that the movie will stay faithful to the ’80s-era Muppets. When asked if Kermit’s going to have some mojo in this movie, Segel says,
Let me tell you, anyone who can walk around in life completely naked all the time has got to have some mojo.
Funny, coming from a guy who’s completely naked for the entire opening sequence of his first major starring role.
The Muppets movie is still in the writing stages, and no release date has been set yet. Click here to read the whole interview.

Terminator Salvation director McG is blogging about the filming progress and has commented on the atrocious spoiler that has been circulating the internet. The spoiler is so awful that I’m not even going to write it here (but you can find it if you look).
Fortunately McG (who also uses the blog to explain his ridiculous name) says this in reference to the spoiler: “By the way, there are only three people who know the ending.”

Werner Herzog (Rescue Dawn) is directing a remake of the 1992 film Bad Lieutenant (originally starring Harvey Keitel) with Nic Cage in the title role. The original movie received an NC-17 rating for following the police officer who was involved in, “drugs, gambling, sex and stealing,” according to Variety.
The new movie is set to start shooting late this summer.

What more could a child of the 80s want? We’ve had a big-screen adaptation of just about every cartoon, puppet show, and movie that we watched as children. And now we’re getting a Fraggles movie. Empire Online says that the Jim Henson studio will (naturally) be producing and controlling the puppets in a movie that sees them venturing out of the underground Fraggle world and into the human world.
Now if only someone would make a Jem movie…

Marvel announced release dates for several of its upcoming superhero movies…all the way through 2011. Iron Man 2 (yes, the sequel to the just released Iron Man) will be released on April 30th, 2010.
Thor is scheduled for June 4th, 2010.
The First Avenger: Captain America (working title) is scheduled for May 6th, 2011, closely followed by The Avengers in July 2011.
Two movies they said are in development but are not yet scheduled are Ant-Man and Spider-Man 4 (ironically).

I think that’s the only way to explain all the accidents that have occurred on-set or to the crew. Back in April, the Aston Martin being driven to the set drove off a cliff. Shortly afterwards there was an accident on-set with a stunt driver.
The most recent news is that a technician from the set was seriously injured in a domestic dispute - he was stabbed with a steak knife and found in a pool of blood in the street.
