It’s that time of year again, when you start to question whether or not your favorite tv shows got renewed. I started scouring the internet yesterday, to see if some of my favorites got dropped. Sadly, the news wasn’t good. Here’s a comprehensive list of shows that were not picked up for the 2007-2008 season:
- Veronica Mars - much to the fanboy’s surprise, hottie Veronica will not be saving any more of her friends’ lives.
- The Class - one of, I thought, the best new witty shows of last year. Sadly, not everyone agreed.
- The Nine - we’ll never know what happened in that bank. To cancel a show like this mid-season was just wrong.
- 3 lbs - cancelled after one episode. I guess no one cares about brain surgeons anymore.
- Jericho - the whole premise of this show seemed weird to me, I never watched it, but apparently there’s a huge uproar from its fans and they’re trying to get the network to renew it.
- Drive - rumors say that this show was cancelled halfway through the first episode. The ratings were that poor.
- The OC - much to my friend Jake’s demise, no more OC
- The Wedding Bells - Seems like this show lasted for twenty seconds. We saw forty-thousand commercials for it, then once it aired, no more commercials.
- Vanished - Yet another show that we’ll never know what happened. Apparently, they aired the last four episodes they filmed on MySpace video. I never got around to watching them, and still don’t care who kidnapped the dude’s wife.
- Gilmore Girls - sorry Trish. No more Rory and Lorelai Gilmore
- Crossing Jordon - finally, I don’t have to see the last three minutes when I switch to NBC, to watch Medium.
- The Black Donnellys - I actually liked the first episode of the show. I think it would have made a better mini-series, or even a movie. The TV show just started to drag after the first episode, which is probably why people stopped watching.
- 7th Heaven - wasn’t this cancelled already? A few years ago? Guess not.
- Saved - I gave this show a shot once. It was like ER, without all the good parts.
- Deadwood - I’ve never seen this show, because I’m too cheap to pay for HBO. I hear good things though, and will get that boxed set when the price isn’t $6M
One of your favorites get axed, and no tmake the list? Leave it in the comments, and I’ll be sure to add it to the official list.
