  WhySoSerious Pumpkin Falling to Pieces

WhySoSerious Pumpkin Falling ApartWe’ve been following the decay of the WhySoSerious.com pumpkin for a while now, and I have to admit it has seen better days.

One side has almost completely rotted away as we are within an hour of Halloween (East Coast time). Hollywood Chicago has explained why the pumpkin is only rotting on one side:

You could say it has a split personality. You could say it has – yes – two faces. While it’s premature to confirm the presence of Two-Face (an enemy of Batman), stay tuned in the coming days for the answer.

Hopefully we’ll find out if this does indeed reference Two-Face in about 35 minutes.

Check back with MovieSnobs later tonight to see what WhySoSerious.com has to reveal.

Did It Bomb? Weekend of 10/26/07

Alrighty, boys and girls! Who wants to know how my predictions for last week’s new films came out? Raise your hands, now!

If you guessed that it’s time for another rip-roaring edition of DIB?, you are 100% correct! Let’s bring on the updates!

Dan in Real Life: Steve Carell and Dane Cook have gone a bit softer lately, particularly in this romantic comedy, focused on the life and family of a single father.
Will It Bomb? It looks extremely sweet. As in “rot your teeth.” It will get into the 10, but will probably end up in the lower end.
Did It Bomb?
Surprisingly enough, it made it to #2 with $11.8 million in revenue. It’s still a drop in the bucket, compared to the film that hit the top spot (which I will get to in just a sec!).
Outcome: Mezza-mezza. ½ out of 2.

Saw IV: Yep, more elaborate and graphic traps come at you in the newest chapter of the Saw franchise. Don’t forget, there will also be more screams, more sleep deprivation…
Will It Bomb? It will absolutely hit the 5. It will probably take down 30 Days of Night from its #1 standing.
Did It Bomb? I don’t think so! This hit the motherload with $31.8 million and made it to #1!
Outcome: Score! 1 ½ out of 2.

***Official Box Office tallies and positions according to Variety (variety.com), The Hollywood Reporter (hollywoodreporter.com) and the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com).

Well, I’m getting back on track with these predictions. How glad am I? Thanks for joining me this week. WIB? returns later this week with a whole new batch of flicks coming to a cinema near you! Early next week, DIB? is back with all the results. I can’t wait! See you then!

Have you been to the movies in the past couple of weeks? I have. And I have seen the following video multiple times, which is why the song has been stuck in my head all day. It shows during the Screenvision ads before the trailers. It’s extremely strange, and the song is extremely catchy. You’ve been warned…

Best Horror Movies, According to Celebrities

AOL asked a handful of celebrities what they thought the scariest movie was. Two of them said Stephen King’s It, which I agree with. Some of the other choices I’ve never heard of. Go see what scares Milla Jovovich, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jason Bateman, and Michael Douglas.

David Caruso in CSI Miami
This week’s new releases are the fifth season of CSI: Miami, the third Spider-Man movie, and the John Krasinski/Mandy Moore romantic comedy that wasn’t very funny.
