Dane Cook rules the universe

Boston funnyman Dane Cook had a unique vision: he brought three comedian friends on tour with him, on a giant bus, and filmed the whole thing. HBO thought this was genius and aired it. I think it’s hilarious and watch it every week. Sadly, it’s ending soon. After all, a TV show following a 30 day tour can only last so long. Since the last show on the tour aired this past week, this coming Sunday’s episode is going to feature footage of all four comedians in their early days.

There’s good news, despite the series being over. Dane’s April 15th, 2006 performance at The Garden in Boston will be aired as a 90-minute super-special titled “Vicious Circle.” I can personally attest to the awesomeness of this show, because I was there. And I have the t-shirt to prove it. The show airs September 4th.

We also can’t forget the multitude of movies Dane has in the works including Employee of the Month with Dax, formerly of MTV’s “Punk’d”; Farce of the Penguins, the animated film written and directed by Bob Saget and featuring the voices of Bob, Dane, Samuel L. Jackson, Lewis Black, Jamie Kennedy, Carlos Mencia, John Stamos, and Jason Biggs, just to name a few; Good Luck Chuck, a movie about dating disasters; Mr. Brooks, Transformers, and Dan in Real Life, all being released in 2007.

Of course, there’s also the DVD release of the Tourgasm series to look forward to. From Dane’s website: “Me and the guys just finished commentary for all 9 episodes and with over 420 plus hours of footage NEVER BEFORE SEEN we plan on putting out plenty of bonus stuff when it drops (Thanksgiving / X-mas time I am guessing).” I know what I’ll be thankful for this Turkey Day – DVD extras.
