While watching The Transporter this weekend, I realized yet again that Jason Statham is a total badass. Looking at his upcoming movies, it looks like Death Race is going to further his reputation. No trailer or poster available yet, but the IMDb synopsis says,

Set in a future version of America, a prisoner (Statham) who is weeks away from being released is forced by his warden (Joan Allen) to compete in a brutal, deadly car race alongside his fellow inmates.

I’m picturing all the awesome car chase scenes from The Transporter and The Italian Job, but with some “Prison Break” scenes thrown in.

   If you haven’t checked out the original, you should give it a shot. It’s totally 70’s cheese but sooooo completely awesome. Be prepared to have your socks knocked off by “The Italian Stallion”. NO JOKE.
