Guess who? That would be moi, and I have arrived to give you the recap of the one lone film that premiered last weekend. Let’s find out how it panned out, shall we? It’s time for one short edition of DIB?!
One Missed Call: Yet another remake of an Asian film, where victims learn when and where the precise moment of their demise will be, through their trusty cell phone. Golf claps, anyone? Will It Bomb? This looks beyond stupid, but somehow I’m visualizing it in the middle of the Top 10. The Water Horse and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem will move down a couple of pegs, but there will not be any major changes. Did It Bomb? What did I tell you? Scary that I nailed it, huh? It did make it directly into the #5 slot, pulling in a modest $12.5 million, and taking down the aforementioned flicks. Enjoy the position while it’s there, folks, because it’ll slip further down this weekend. Outcome: Score! 1 out of 1.
***Official Box Office tallies and positions according to Variety (variety.com), The Hollywood Reporter (hollywoodreporter.com) and the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com).
Well, that’s going to do it for this week! I’m back (as always) in a couple of days with the roundup of all the newbies hitting the cinema this coming weekend over at WIB?! Be sure to check it out. See you there!
