Did It Bomb? Weekend of 9/7/07

All righty, my friends! The weekend is now behind us, so of course, we need to find out if the movies delivered like I thought they would!

Of course! It’s the newest chapter of the saga known as DIB?! I’m itching to get to it! What are we waiting for? Let’s get started!

Shoot ‘Em Up: Clive Owen plays buff, ass kicking bodyguard. Paul Giamatti is after the woman he’s protecting. Fast cars for the boys, drooling over Clive for the girls.
Will It Bomb? This will hit the 5, but will battle with the triple threat of mega-stars in some other movie.
Did It Bomb? It hit the Top 5, but it couldn’t quite take down the competition. $5.72 mill and the #4 position. ***
Outcome: Score! 1 out of 3

3:10 to Yuma: Remake, with 3 reasons why this will be awesome. Unbelievable casting for a Western people will want to see. Add the mind-blowing trailer. There are your three.
Will It Bomb? Top 5, but will go head to head with Shoot ‘Em Up.
Did It Bomb? Nope! This made it to the very, very top with a take of $14 million! Russell is back!!!!***
Outcome: Score! 2 out of 3

The Brothers Solomon: Two clueless brothers want to please their dying father want to have kids as quickly as humanly possible. That’s a long shot, let me just say.
Will It Bomb? The masses have been rather harsh toward this movie, from what I heard. Bottom of the 10, granted if it even gets in.
Did It Bomb? Did it ever! #24 position with a bit over $508,000 in revenue. Stick a fork in it, it’s done! ***
Outcome: Score! 3 out of 3

***Official Box Office tallies and positions according to Variety (variety.com), The Hollywood Reporter (hollywoodreporter.com) and the Internet Movie Database (imdb.com).

Guys, how about that? Pulled it off again! Come on back later in the week where you get the brand new stuff over at WIB? Naturally, you all should know to come back early next week where the recap comes in, right here at DIB?! Have fun!!
