First Movie Hit By Writers’ Strike – Angels & Demons

Rope of Silicon reports that the script for The Da Vinci Code prequel movie (from the book series, of course) Angels & Demons wasn’t a filming-ready version when handed in to Columbia Pictures for the November 1st deadline.

The movie’s release date has been pushed back to May 15th, 2009 instead of the Christmas 2008 it was originally given. That date still hinges on both the writers’ strike ending in a timely manner and the Screen Actors Guild not striking when their contracts are up.

I hope it all gets sorted out, since Angels & Demons was a much more interesting book than The Da Vinci Code. Though I’m still not thrilled with Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon – I think author Dan Brown looks more like Langdon (for obvious reasons).
