A couple of the MovieSnobs went to see comedian Stephen Lynch in Boston last night, which was awesome. Some of you may know Stephen from his comedy albums such as A Little Bit Special and The Craig Machine. Others may know his comedy DVD Live at the El Rey. Theater geeks among you may have caught or heard about Stephen’s Tony-nominated stint on Broadway starring in The Wedding Singer. As someone who has seen and heard all of those, I have to say that he is an immensely talented performer. He is consistently funny, and has a surprisingly beautiful voice. You don’t expect comedians to pull out a voice like this.
On top of all that – he’s a nice guy. We met him in New York City after a performance of The Wedding Singer. He stuck around to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.
If you’ve never seen or heard Stephen Lynch, go out to Best Buy, or head over to Amazon, and pick up Live at the El Rey immediately.
In case you’re wondering why this is movie-related, it’s not really. Other than the fact that Stephen did jokes about Hugh Grant and Christopher Reeve, and sang a song about sidekicks that mentioned Jay & Silent Bob (of Kevin Smith‘s films).
