Joseph Gordon-Levitt doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves. He started out on “3rd Rock From the Sun” on television, years ago, and moved onto some small time movies.
He showed up on my radar when he did The Lookout, and Brick, and people started noticing that he really could act.
Gordon-Levitt was cast late last night in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Inception, which we still know very little about.
It’s no secret that Christopher Nolan casts his movies fantastically. There’s no doubt about that. He knows who he wants, and he gets that person for the role.
Rumor has it, that Michael Caine is in talks to be in Nolan’s next movie, Inception. Cillian Murphy and Ellen Page have already been confirmed as being cast. Others have been rumored, but not yet confirmed.
It’s no surprise the Nolan would want to cast Caine. For me, he was an integral part of The Prestige, and that story would not have been even remotely complete without him playing Cutter.
And who can forget his performance as Alfred in the last two Batman movies?
Should Nolan cast Caine in Inception, I’m sure whatever part he plays would be fantastic.
There’s no talk yet as to what Inception is actually about, but it’s Christopher and Jonathan Nolan writing it. What more do you need?
It’s no secret that we here at MovieSnobs love Christopher Nolan, and pretty much anything he’s done, or ever will done. When we heard about his newest movie Inception being green lit, we were thrilled.
News broke last night that Nolan’s begun scouting talent for the film, and is in talks with some big name stars to be in the movie. Who? Glad you asked.
Ellen Page (Juno), Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins, Red Eye, Sunshine), and Marion Cotillard (Big Fish, Public Enemies), that’s who.
I’m a big fan of Cillian Murphy’s, especially after Batman Begins, and who doesn’t love Ellen Page? I can’t comment on Marion Cotillard, because I’ve never heard of her, and she’s only mostly done French films (aside from a handful of B movies).
All we know about Inception thus far is that it’s a “sci-fi” movie “based on the architecture of the mind.” Based on previous Nolan movies, it’s going to be amazing, confusing, and leave you wondering what the hell just happened.
Inception was written by Christopher Nolan and his screenwriter brother, Jonathan Nolan.
As a recent fan of Juno and a huge fan of Cillian Murphy, I was psyched to see that they’ll be in a movie together. Even better news is that Murphy will be playing a person with split personality disorder who believes his two personalities are husband and wife. Cillian has an amazing range as an actor, and I’m sure this is a role that will allow him to show off his talents.
Page plays a young mother in the town who instigates a battle between Murphy’s personalities.
This week’s new releases all feature badasses. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe are cowboys in 3:10 to Yuma while Cillian Murphy is part of a space journey to reignite the dying sun in Sunshine. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a writer after a serial killer in Zodiac and Kevin Bacon rounds out the release week as a father out for revenge for his son’s killing in Death Sentence.
