I Love You, Man – Funniest Actor
Posted by: Christine on Apr 6th, 2008 Leave a Comment »

There’s no doubt that I Love You, Man is going to be a funny movie. The cast is fantastic, and the premise is an easy setup for both big laughs and a heartwarming ending. But what I’m having a hard time deciding, is who’s going to be the funniest one of them all?

Jason Segel has proven himself hilarious time and again on How I Met Your Mother, and his upcoming movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall looks funny as well. On the other hand, Paul Rudd never fails to steal a scene from anyone he’s in a movie with.

Then we have the ladies. Both Rashida Jones and Jaime Pressley are extremely talented comedic actresses. Jones was a great straight-woman off of John Krasinski’s Jim Halpert on The Office, and Pressley is one of the highlights of My Name Is Earl (especially now that Earl’s in a coma and we’ve strayed from The List).

Since I can’t decide, who do you think is going to be the funniest one?

Neil Patrick Harris in CabaretGood news for Neil Patrick Harris fans, and Joss Whedon fans – Whedon has written a web musical titled Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, starring NPH as Doctor Horrible.

Fans of How I Met Your Mother might know that NPH can sing thanks to the cast’s appearance on The Megan Mullally Show (see the video on YouTube).

Broadway fans might have had a chance to catch him in Cabaret (pictured at left), Tick, Tick…BOOM!, Proof. In short, the boy can sing.

Fans of Whedon know he can pull together a musical after seeing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode titled “Once More With Feeling.” This should be an interesting endeavor all-around. Plus, Firefly and Serenity star Nathan Fillion will also be in the web musical.

For more details, check out the whole story on TV Squad.

Side note: I had a chance to catch Harris in his Cabaret role and he was fantastic. My theater-major friends agreed.

As a fan of “How I Met Your Mother,” and more recently “Freaks and Geeks” on DVD, I’ve really been looking forward to Jason Segel’s writing debut Forgetting Sarah Marshall. There’s a brand new red band trailer up at Empire Online.

The movie looks hilarious, especially if there’s more of Paul Rudd and Jonah Hill than was shown in the trailer. Go check out the trailer.
