I was a bit surprised to take a look at the final box office tallies from the weekend, to see a cheesy (and extremely poorly reviewed) Nicholas Cage movie taking top honors.
I fully expected I Love You, Man to take the top spot. But, I guess R rated comedies will always lose out to PG-13 rated Nicholas Cage movies. Go figure.
I didn’t have a chance to check out I Love You, Man, but have full intentions on seeing it this week. I’ve heard nothing but good things. And being a huge fan of Jason Segal, and Paul Rudd, I simply have to see this film.
The new I Love You, Man poster is available. A buddy of mine down in Phoenix saw a screening last night, and said it was the funniest movie he’d seen in five years, and that at points he was laughing so hard, he thought he was going to throw up. Here’s hoping you’re right, Kev.
In addition to I Love You Philip Morris and I Love You, Man, we get another “love” movie this summer, called I Love You Beth Cooper. The trailer doesn’t look quite as good as I Love You, Man, but still somewhat cute. It stars “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere, and a whole bunch of other people who aren’t famous, and probably won’t be after this movie, either.
The trailer for the new Judd Apatow comedy I Love You, Man hit the internet today, and it’s freakin’ hilarious. Jason Segel and Paul Rudd are pure comedy gold. Check it out below, you’ll laugh, I promise.
There’s no doubt that I Love You, Man is going to be a funny movie. The cast is fantastic, and the premise is an easy setup for both big laughs and a heartwarming ending. But what I’m having a hard time deciding, is who’s going to be the funniest one of them all?
Jason Segel has proven himself hilarious time and again on How I Met Your Mother, and his upcoming movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall looks funny as well. On the other hand, Paul Rudd never fails to steal a scene from anyone he’s in a movie with.
Then we have the ladies. Both Rashida Jones and Jaime Pressley are extremely talented comedic actresses. Jones was a great straight-woman off of John Krasinski’s Jim Halpert on The Office, and Pressley is one of the highlights of My Name Is Earl (especially now that Earl’s in a coma and we’ve strayed from The List).
Since I can’t decide, who do you think is going to be the funniest one?
In what’s shaping up to be my favorite cast of the year (with the notable exception of The Dark Knight), the romantic comedy I Love You, Man has added My Name Is Earl star Jaime Pressley to the cast. Empire Online says she’ll play the best friend of Rashida Jones’ character. For more details on the plot, check out our previous (super-excited) post about the flick.
As if I wasn’t already excited enough about I Love You, Man, now Rashida Jones (Karen from “The Office”) is joining the cast. Empire Online says she’ll be playing Paul Rudd’s fiance. I can imagine Rudd, Jones, and co-star Jason Segel will all work really well together.
I Love You, Man tells the story of an engaged man (Rudd) who finds a random stranger (Segel) to be his best man. No US release date yet.
