In a recent interview with director Quentin Tarantino, he was quoted as saying
Once the Basterds get through with Europe, they could go to the South and do it to the Kluxers in the ’50s. That’s another story you could tell.
He was, of course, talking about his hopeful sequel to Inglorious Basterds. Of course, that’s really up to the studios, who’ll base their opinions on how much money Basterds makes in theaters.
Knowing Tarantino, however, it probably won’t make enough money to warrant a sequel, until it hits DVD. That just seems to be how his movies work their magic. While they’re appreciated on the big screen, they don’t quite get the following they need, until people can watch them at home.
