I think people are taking this way out of context, but here’s the quote
I’ll tell you what is buzzing around in my head now that we have the ability—the digital tools, performance capture—I’m starting to think about ‘Roger Rabbit
Now, everyone with a movie blog is reporting that Robert Zemeckis is planning on making a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit?.
That’s certainly not what he said, read the quote again. He’s thinking about it. The chances of it actually being made into a movie, at this point, are pretty slim.
When he’s quoted again, saying that the studios are thinking about it. That’s when we can start to get excited. For now, take a step back, calm down, and go back to posting your pictures of Megan Fox, because that apparently qualifies as “movie news” to some people.
We’ve seen Jim Carrey as The Grinch, and he’s set to play Horton in Horton Hears a Who, and he played Count Olaf in in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, so we’re used to seeing him in classic roles. The MTV Movie Blog has news that Carrey will play Santa in an upcoming adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The movie is being written and directed by Robert Zemeckis (Beowulf, Monster House) and is set for release on November 6th, 2009.
While the quote from young co-star Sammi Hanratty claims that Carrey is playing Santa, IMDb has him listed as playing “Ebenezer Scrooge / Ghost of Christmas Past / Ghost of Christmas Present / Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.”
Carrey always delivers when given room to take the character where he pleases, so this should be a hit come Christmas ’09.
