If you don’t know anything about The Expendables, you don’t need to know more than this: Stallone, Statham, Rourke, Schwarzenegger, Li, Lundgren, Roberts, and Austin.  If none of those names ring a bell to you, stop reading this site, and kindly never come back.

Here’s the poster for Stallone’s upcoming ass-kicking fest.

As you know, Slyvester Stallone’s new flick The Expendables is going to be huge. Whether it’s hugely awesome, or hugely horrible is yet to be determined.

Yesterday saw the release of two photos from the set onto the net, presumably by some poor key grip trying to make a quick buck.  Irregardless, here they are.  The first is an explosion on set, and the second is Sly with Jason Statham.

Apparently Slyvester Stallone’s next big flick, The Expendables is the most star studded movie ever made.  And on top of that, the casting’s changed and been more secretive than anything else in recent history.

With that said, Sly called up his old buddy Kurt Russell, and asked him to be in the film.  After Russell’s manager demanded Sly put the request in a letter, and send it over, Sly refused, citing that he’d worked directly with Russell before, on Tango and Cash.

A few days later, Sly received a letter declining the invite to be in the movie.  On Stallone’s website, Sly writes:

I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too.  Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent.  Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in ‘ensemble acting’ at this time.

So, People, I came, I saw, I failed.

Sort of depresssing that Tango and Cash don’t talk on a regular basis.
