Late last night The Dark Knight camp released word that January 23rd is the date it’ll hit theaters. Not just IMAX, but all theaters.
This means that the film will be the fourth film in the elusive billion dollar club. Joining Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in said club.
I know I’ll be checking it out a second time. As of now, The Dark Knight is only roughly $70.5 million behind Titanic in the all time domestic rankings. I think the re-release will certainly pull in more than that, and put The Dark Knight up at the top, where it belongs.
