The movie raked in just over $200 million it its first five days in theaters. While that may seem like a lot of money, it isn’t the most money ever taken in during the first five days in theaters. That record is still held by The Dark Knight. It was close, but Batman won by just a few million dollars.
With that said, $200million is still good for the number two spot on the list of best five day openings in history, and it demolished The Proposal, which made just $18 million.
Did you see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen? What did you think? Sound off in the comments.
This will be airing tonight during the Super Bowl, along with a bunch of other trailers. Most of them made their way online late last night, but this is the only one that’s excited me enough to post. Check it out.
The MTV Movies Blog has news about The Office star Rainn Wilson joining the cast of Transformers 2. He’ll be playing a college professor, but won’t reveal much more than that. Although he jokes that he’s playing, “a professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot.”
The Transformers 2 casting rumor that Jonah Hill was going to play Shia LaBeouf’s sidekick actually turned out to be semi-true. For a while, Hill was in talks to play the role. Unfortunately, EW.com reports that the talks have broken down.
I’m bummed for a couple of reasons. One, I’m a little tired of Shia LaBeouf and I thought Jonah Hill would be a nice scene stealer. And two, it would give Hill a chance to practice his PG-13 humor.
