I hadn’t heard of The Air I Breathe before seeing this poster (below) for it. It has a great cast, including Andy Garcia, Brendan Fraser, and Sarah Michelle Gellar (who apparently has recovered from the ridiculousness that was The Grudge to have a real acting career again).
The plotline on IMDb says,
A drama based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love. A businessman (Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race; a gangster (Fraser) sees the future; a pop star (Gellar) falls prey to a crime boss (Garcia); a doctor (Bacon) must save the love of his life.
It sounds at least vaguely interesting, and Andy Garcia plays a crime boss, which should be fantastic.
The Air I Breathe opens in limited release on January 25th, 2008.

It seems like a strange collection of actors. They’re all great on their own, but I never would have thought to cast them all together.
I love the look of this poster and of the trailer as well but I’m concerned that this is going to be a convoluted disaster. I hope not but I have a bad feeling about it.
