Jane Austen is a popular lady in the movies these days. This week Anne Hathaway stars in a biopic about the romance author titled Becoming Jane. Early next year, The Jane Austen Book Club will be released.
Based on the Karen Joy Fowler book of the same name, The Jane Austen Book Club stars Emily Blunt, Maria Bello, and – one of my personal favorite actresses – Amy Brenneman, as a group of women who gather to discuss Jane Austen’s novels. As an Austen fan myself, I’ve been working on re-reading her novels, as well as reading the novel the movie is based on, before the release date in January ’08. I’d be happy to start a movie-preparedness book club if anyone’s interested. In the meantime, check out the poster below.

I like the book with the pages forming a heart, but the movie stills are useless.
Mildly interested in this one but I *hate* that poster.
