The good news? Underworld 3 will begin shooting in January and will be a prequel. The bad news? The prequel will shoot sans vampire hottie Kate Beckinsale.

I’m assuming this means the story will not involve her character Selene, because I can’t imagine anyone else taking over that role. Except, of course, the girl who plays Selene as a child in flashbacks in Underworld and Underworld: Evolution. Anyone know what the story will be?
