    Will It Bomb? 4/13/07

Considering that this Friday falls on the 13th of the month, will that bring bad luck for the film industry?

That’s right, kids! It’s time for another edition of Will It Bomb?! Glad you could join us this Thursday evening.

This weekend, Halle Berry gets the bottom of her friend’s disappearance and possibly into Bruce Willis’ arms; Teenagers spot something not so kosher in a house across the street; Talking fast food treats; a Lord of the Rings alum goes up against the Vikings. Whew, that’s quite a variety! The question is, will they rake in the dough?

Let’s get to it!

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters: OK. So, a milkshake, fries with a goatee, and a meat blob band together for some crazy adventures! Sounds like a blast! Fans of this show, shown on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block, must be so excited!
Will It Bomb?
I’ve never seen this TV show, so I really can’t determine how much of a stretch the film version will be. Chances are, it will make a tidy sum, thanks to the show’s rabid fans.

Disturbia: A teenager under house arrest passes his time spying on his neighbors, and then he believes something sinister is going on across the way. Naturally, he brings in some of his friends to check it out. You can pretty much guess where it goes from here.
Will It Bomb? This movie does not look scary or exciting from where I’m sitting. The teenagers will probably be the only ones who will touch this film. Lower half of the Box Office, if anything.

Pathfinder: When a Native American tribe is attacked by a band of Vikings, they didn’t expect them to leave something behind. In this case though, it’s someone. Years later, the Vikings come back, but a now adult Ghost (Karl Urban) has grown quite attached to his surrogate family and will fight for them!
Will It Bomb? Does Karl Urban look a little familiar? Picture him with facial hair and a blonde mane. Give up? He played Eomer in Lord of the Rings!! Considering his best known work, thus far, this could be the driving force for viewership. I think it will set up shop in the low end of the Top 10.

Perfect Stranger: When Halle Berry’s friend goes missing, it’s found out that she had a secret affair with… Bruce Willis? It’s up to reporter Halle to infiltrate his world to find out what happened. She’ll also find out just what kind of man Bruce really is.
Will It Bomb? Eh…Halle Berry hasn’t really had too much luck with her film choices as of late. This particular type of story has been rehashed way too many times. Unless they put some huge plot twist into it, I think this will be another lackluster flick to add to her list.

We’ve come to the end.. For this week anyway! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to come back next Thursday! More films, more theories, more fun!

WOW! I’m pretty shocked that Disturbia opened at #1 with a $23 million take. Who knew?

Usually I agree with your predictions, but I think Disturbia may have some box office bank to it. Shia LaBeouf has been making quite a name for himself as a serious actor. I do agree that it has more of a teenager twist on it, but I’ve always had a soft spot for teen horror flicks.
