Greetings, folks! I’m here with the latest gab on what’s coming to a theater near you this weekend!
Ready to get dazzled? Let’s go!
Good Luck Chuck: Dane Cook is obviously really into this comedy thing, so what better flick to star in that this one? He plays a guy who apparently has a special gift: after sleeping with him, a woman meets the love of her life. Now, he doesn’t think he’s quite lucky, especially when he gets with his new squeeze. Will It Bomb? There’s always room for a goofy comedy on the Top 10! I bet that it will hit the 5, as well!
Resident Evil: Extinction: I don’t know why, but when I watched this trailer, I couldn’t help thinking about Planet of the Apes. Very similar look, I’d say. While I didn’t see the first movie, the trailer makes this appear to be decent. Milla Jovovich reunites with a crew to go up against more infected beings. I guess “post-apocalyptic†Las Vegas in the place to be. Maybe not… Will It Bomb?: I’ll go out on a limb here and say Top 10 standing, regardless. As for a spot in the 5, it’s marginal.
Sydney White: Amanda Bynes plays a modern teen version of which fairy tale princess that ends up living with 7 guys? Hmm… I give up! Seriously, though, this is the best that they could come up with? Snow White gets blackballed from a sorority? Will It Bomb?: I think it looks pretty lame, but the teenies will get into this. Probable low end of the 10.
Last week, I showcased three films that were in limited release, so my assessments weren’t quite up to snuff. Therefore, In the Valley of Elah, Across the Universe, and Eastern Promises return to the list and the results will be updated in the next installment of DIB?, which you can catch early next week. So, that’s the end, folks! WIB? comes back late next week with the next batch of films available for your viewing pleasure! Have a great weekend!
Yeah, I’m not sure what will take it this weekend though I am overly hopeful (and yes, I realize it’s crazy) that “Eastern Promises” will get such good word of mouth press from last week’s limited release that people will flock to theaters. Oh god. I’d love to see Cronenberg have another box office hit.
