Don’t let anyone ever tell you watching late night TV gets you nowhere. I was watching a marathon of Fresh Prince of Bel Air episodes last night, and spotted something I’m stunned no one has written about. Will walks into an interview with Princeton, where the interviewer is playing with a Rubik’s Cube. Will grabs it, solves it, and then the guy gives him a second chance at the interview.
Eerily similar is the scene in Will’s latest movie The Pursuit of Happyness when he solves the Cube during a taxi ride with a potential boss. The only real difference I can see between the two scenes, is that he didn’t actually solve it on the Fresh Prince. It was obvious that it was a prepared Cube. Whereas in Happyness, he was trained to solve the Cube in under two minutes.
I’m hoping I’m not the only one who thinks it’s amazing that no one has brought this up before.
